My 25 things...which I changed to 20 because I'm not that interesting!

Ok, so everyone is doing this on Facebook, but I hardly ever use Facebook, and since my new job, I have been so neglectful of my blog, I decided to start here....

20 interesting (or not so interesting) things about me:

I was born 6 weeks early and spent 4 weeks in the hospital. This was AFTER my mom spent 6 weeks in the hospital prior to my birth.

I cannot live with chapstick, nasal spray or tissue....which leads to...

I have the worst allergies of anyone I know. I am allergic to EVERYTHING!

I know anything and everything about college football.

Both my parents are remarried, so among them both I have 8 step-siblings and 1 half-brother.

Somewhere in my family tree, I am related to Andrew Jackson.

I HATE bugs of any kind, I literally break out in a sweat when I see a spider or anything that resembles a bug.

I just got the heebie-jeebies thinking about bugs.

I am the only 27 year old I know with arthritis which I blame on years of dance, drill team, and jump-splits.

My high school mascot was a Fighting Farmer, and yes, I am proud of that. :)

I love hair bands. Bon Jovi is awesome.

My world would stop turning if they ever stop making Dr. Pepper.

Ditto for Chipotle.

My parents are from Alabama, and my grandparents are the coolest people I know. I love that my grandpa still uses the phrase ''cotton-pickin''.

I collect college football t-shirts.

A boy called my house for the first time in kindergarten. :)

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE babies. If I could, I would have 20.

My mom still calls me "Pumpkin" at 27.

I have an addiction to purses.

My secret hobby is cross-stitching. I am now learning knitting too so I can make my best friend a baby blanket by August.

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Years Eve, and I hope 2009 turns out well for everyone! I am not one to make resolutions...but there are a few things I would like to work on for the new year:
1.) Continue my weight loss....hopefully I can resume my workouts now that my ankle appears to be on the mend.
2.) Not break any bones in 2009. :)
3.) Continue my education....nursing school is calling!
4.) Maintain my charitable donations
5.) Love myself more.....I swear, this is on my list every year....but can't we all do this a little more?
Here's to a new year, a new President, and hopefully a new ECONOMY!!!

Hiatus.....

I swear, I'm coming back, but things have been a bit hectic, and I just don't have the energy at night to coupon or blog. Hope everyone is having a good pre-holiday!!! More savings and stories to come! :)

I can wear both shoes again!!!

First things first, I went to the doctor this morning and had my foot looked at. The fracture is healing well, but the doctor wants me to stay in a brace for 2-3 more weeks just to be sure it heals completely. This was FINE with me, just to get out of the cast was awesome!!! This is my new fashionable footwear:

Hot, huh? lol.....anyway, onto my CVS-ing for the week. I was lazy, and didn't take pictures, but here's how my 2 transactions went this week.
Transaction #1:
1 Loreal Age-PerfectPro Calcium moisturizer $15.99, earns 15.99 ECBs
Total: $16.95
Paid with 13 ECBs, total OOP (out-of pocket): 3.95, earned 15.99 ECBs
Transaction #2:
2 Glade Scented Oil refills @ 3.99
1 Glade candle @ 2.50
(Buy $10 of Glade products, earn 5 ECBs)
3 packs of Duracell batteries
(Buy $20 of batteries, get 15 ECBs)
Total: $32.91
Used 2 $1/1 Duracell coupons, 1 $1.50/2 Glade coupon
Paid with 25.99 ECBs, total OOP: $8.42, earned 20 ECBs
Usually, I try to make sure I earn as many ECBs as I spend, which I didn't, but I am trying to earn as many as possible, and start saving them up for the Black Friday sale next week!!
On a side note, the moisturizer says its for "mature, dull skin" but I have been using it at night, it makes my face feel cool and fresh. :)

Tagged...

Ok, so it's my turn to share 7 things about myself.....hmmm...
  1. I can pretty much tell you any stat or fact you want to know about college football. I will sit and watch any game, any teams, anytime.
  2. I LOVE Chipotle. If it didn't cost so much, and wasn't so awful for me, I would literally eat there every day.
  3. I was born in the wrong decade. I have such an affection for the hairbands (Bon Jovi!!!), I think I was born a few years too late. I have the ENTIRE Bon Jovi album collection....seriously.
  4. I cannot pass up Pretty Woman or Steel Magnolias on TV......and I've seen them both over 1,000 times I'm sure.
  5. I blow my nose at least 10 times a day.....every day.
  6. I cannot live without Chapstick or nasal spray......yes, I'm aware that makes me sound like a nut, but I am allergic to EVERYTHING........I couldn't tell you what clear sinuses feel like, I don't think I've ever had them.
  7. My high school mascot was a Fighting Farmer.......which made me a Farmerette.....feel free to laugh.

Ok, who's getting tagged next.....

CVS Trip.....ehh, not bad.

Made a trip to CVS at lunch yesterday....it wasn't great, but I found some ECBs lying around, and I actually needed most of the stuff, so I guess it was still worth it. The cashier cracks me up, she recognizes me now, and is always impressed with my savings.

Here's the loot:

The floss was 2.99 w/cpn and it earned 2 ECBs

Shampoo was $1.99 w/cpn and earned 2 ECBs

Always Infinity were $1.99 w/catalina (register) coupon from Kroger and earned 1 ECB (these were priced at $5.99, so a pretty good deal!)

Total before coupons: $28.25

$4/20 coupon from email, $1/1 Garnier shampoo, $1/1 Oral B floss, $3/1 Always Infinity, $9 ECBs

Total after coupons: $7.95

Savings: $20.30 + 5 ECBs earned

***UPDATE*** I just got back from Kroger, the $5/10 items sale is still going. I scored another 20 items for my donation boxes for just over $6. It would have been less, but I didn't realize until afterwards that 2 of my toothpastes rang up higher than they should have....but still, $6 for 20 donation items is great!!
